Is the location information is accurate?

The location information is only approximate, and is not guaranteed to be an "accurate" current position of the subscriber.
The location information is based on which cell tower the subscriber's handset is currently communicating. This cell location is normally 500m to 1km off from the subscriber in urban area. In rural area, the cell site can be much farther off. Also in high mountains or office towers, the radio signal from remote cell towers can be picked up, thus giving a wrong location.
