I am returning the devices to a Maxis Centre and would like to cancel my contract due to the bad coverage at my house. Will I be charged for the premature termination?
If you return within 7 days from the date of activation, you will get a refund of your activation fee. Beyond the 7 days, please provide description of the problem and details of your usage or attempted usage to the staff at any of our Maxis Centres and he/she will put in a request for you. If the request is valid, the Centre will have the authority to act accordingly.
How many devices can be used concurrently with the Home Wireless 7.2 Mbps WiFi modem or 21 Mbps WiFi modem?
Up to 32 devices, but the quality of the connection will be affected when more devices are connected simultaneously to the same modem.
Is the 21 Mbps WiFi modem compatible with Windows 8?
How do I install the SIM card, modem and phone?
If you would like a Maxis representative to install the SIM card, we will have to break the seal. If you install it yourself, follow these instructions. Before inserting or removing the SIM card, please power off or unplug the device:
- Remove the card cover.
- Slide the SIM card into the card slot with the gold contact facing downward.
- Replace the card cover.
*The User Quick Guide covers the installation of the devices provided. Besides that, the devices are preconfigured with Maxis settings whereby Customers are just required to perform physical installation only (connect the device to power supply and turn on WiFi on your PC/Laptop to get connected to the internet). The SSID and password are printed on the bottom of the modem.
If I have a cordless phone of a different brand which supports voice services, can I use it as an extension?
We recommend that you use the DECT phone provided by Maxis so that we may assist with the configuration. We will not be able to provide the same assurance with other cordless phone brands.
For the 21 Mbps WiFi modem , only the provided phone can be used together with the modem.
If the DECT phone is faulty within the warranty period, what should I do?
Please walk-in to your nearest Maxis centre to report the fault. The Maxis Centre executive will help you with the replacement after evaluating the problem.
For the 21 Mbps WiFi modem, you would need to replace the complete set (phone, modem and all accessories), if any part is faulty within the warranty period.
What if I lost my Wi-Fi modem or DECT phone?
For loss of devices, customers would be charged a fee of RM250 for the 7.2Mbps WiFi Modem and RM50 for the phone.
For the 21 Mbps WiFi modem, the complete set is replaceable at RM300 and cannot be replaced separately.
What if my Wi-Fi modem is faulty during the warranty period?
You may replace the modem by walking into any of our Maxis Centres. The first and second replacement of the modem due to technical fault is free.
For 7.2 Mbps WiFi modem:
Third replacement onwards for the modem will be charged a fee of RM250.
As for the phone, fee of RM50 will be charged for the third replacement onwards.
For 21 Mbps WiFi modem:
Third replacement onwards will be charged a fee of RM300 for the complete set. Partial replacement is not allowed as the phone comes pre-paired with the router.
What if the DECT phone is faulty/lost after the 12-months warranty period? Can I purchase a replacement from Maxis?
Currently we do not support the selling of DECT phones. You may purchase it directly from our distributor:
For 21 Mbps WiFi modem, the phone set is not available for sale currently. Please replace the complete set at any Maxis Centre.
For 7.2 Mbps WiFi modem, it is recommended to use any GAP compliant DECT phone from Aztech, Motorola and Panasonic.

Can I change my phone number?
You can change the phone number but there will be a charge of RM25.
Can I request to have an additional phone line and number from this package?
Not at this point in time. For now, we only provide you with a single phone line.
Can I carry forward the balance of my voice minutes to the following month?
No, the minutes under Home Voice service cannot be carried forward. Therefore, we recommend that you fully utilize the free minutes from this package every month.
